Hey y’all! My name is Katie Webb, and I am a freshman here at Texas State. This is going to be my second semester of Diamond Sweethearts and it has already felt like I have known a lot of these girls for my whole life. I knew coming here to Texas State, that Diamond Sweethearts would be the perfect fit for me because, I have always been a big baseball lover and I wanted to give back to the Texas State community in any way I could. From the moment I got my diamond dropped off at dorm, I knew that I chose the perfect home. I put together a list of things/events that made my first semester of being a part of this organization truly amazing.

First Base – Fall Retreat: Fall Retreat is when all the members of the organization spend the whole day together not just learning more about Diamond Sweethearts, but also getting to know your other sweeties. We got to learn about how Diamond Sweethearts came about, and this experience makes the feeling of being a part of this organization that much sweeter.

Second Base – Big/Little Reveal: This was personally one of my most anticipated events. It was so exciting leading up to the reveal of trying to figure out who my big was. The day of the reveal was so much fun and the moment I saw who my big was, I was so excited (also got a pretty cool twin). Although at this point, I truly felt a part of Diamond Sweethearts, I was given my own little family inside of it as well.

Third Base – Semi: This event was the one I was waiting for all semester. Being able to celebrate with everyone for the amazing semester we had, was a blast. For this event we all dressed up and went to a venue in New Braunfels. It was a fun night of dancing and playing casino games with my date and other Diamond Sweethearts.

Home Plate – Icy Rolls: Right after our new girl meeting (stadium showcase), a group of us went to this ice cream shop called Icy Rolls. I don’t think we really realized at the time that we were going to be as close as we are now. These girls now are the ones that I look forward to when I am going to a Diamond Sweetheart event. We go through everything within Diamond Sweethearts together. These girls have truly made my experience so amazing, and I love them so much. If it wasn’t for Diamond Sweethearts, I would have probably never of met them.

Diamond Sweethearts so far has given me so many amazing experiences and friendships that I know will last a lifetime. When I was going through rough weeks of school, my mood would always become better when we had a Diamond Sweetheart event. Joining Diamond Sweethearts was the best decision that I ever made, and I am so excited to meet all the new sweeties!
